IS BEC A GOOD FIT FOR YOU?

Requirements and suggestions for new students

Our requirements are pretty simple. You must be an Oregon resident and you must be high school age. It's okay if you've never been in a public school before! If you have been in an accredited high school, the credits that you've earned will transfer in with you.

College work requires a new level of independence and responsibility. Successful students are able to communicate independently, advocate for their needs, and manage time well. It's okay if you have no prior experience with college-level work. We'll help place you into the correct level of classes to meet you where you are. That said, college courses are still college courses and are not simplified for high school students. Our goal is to help students find the right classes to challenge them, but not overwhelm them. If you aren't quite ready for the challenge of college classes, that's okay. We've got classes for you too! For students under 15, only high school options classes are available. Students who are under 16 may not take classes at LBCC, RCC, or UCC, but may take classes from another one of our college partners.

We accept students on a rolling admissions basis, all year long. If you would like to enroll in Baker Early College between college terms, we will get you started right away in some high school credit options while you wait for college classes to begin.  Please reach out to Kimberly Linn for more details: klinn@bakercharters.org.
