About Us

Our mission is to empower the next generation of Oregonians through innovative, rigorous, and personalized educational options.

Baker Early College is a public charter high school within the Baker Charter Schools (BCS) organization. Within BCS, there are two charter schools sponsored by the Baker School District in Eastern Oregon -- Baker Web Academy, a virtual K-12 school, and Baker Early College, a dual credit high school. Baker Early College partners with community colleges and universities all across the state and is open, free of charge, to all Oregon high school aged students.

COLLEGE PARTNERS

Students can earn college credit in one of two ways:
Dual Enrollment or Dual Credit

Dual enrollment means that students attend a college/university and earn college credits directly through them. For all intents and purposes, students enroll and attend classes just as any other community member wanting to take classes would. All classes taken through dual enrollment are simultaneously transcribed to both high school and college transcripts, regardless of their earned grade.

Dual credit classes are ones that are taught by our high school teaching staff, with the option of receiving college credit. High school credits and grades are automatically awarded, and students may choose to accept or decline college credit if their college grade is a C or higher. If students do not earn a college grade of at least C, the course will not appear at all on their college transcript.
