Admissions

If you have questions about applying and enrolling in Baker Early College, reach out to our enrollment specialist, Kimberly Linn, by email or phone.

View application dates and deadlines here.

BEC operates on a trimester system that largely coincides with the college terms. If you are coming mid-year from a high school on semesters, you'll ideally enroll at BEC between S1 and S2. You'll start in High School Options and can then move to the college for Spring Term.

Please do not apply to the community college you wish to attend. Complete your BEC application first and our admissions team will get you all of the information you need, including details about how to apply to the college and complete placements for 10th-12th graders.

Expulsions: Baker Early College does not accept enrollment requests for students who have been expelled from other educational institutions without review of the expulsion conditions by administration. Enrollment requests may be denied pending administrative review of expulsion to ensure the safety of our school.

Baker Early College admits students of any race, color, sex, sexual orientation, religion, disability, national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally afforded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, sexual orientation, disability, national or ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admission policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school administered programs.

College Partners

Through BEC, students can earn college credit in one of two ways:
dual enrollment or dual credit.

Dual enrollment means that students attend a college/university and earn college credits directly through them. For all intents and purposes, students enroll and attend classes just as any other community member wanting to take classes would. All classes taken through dual enrollment are simultaneously transcribed to both high school and college transcripts, regardless of their earned grade.

Dual credit classes are ones that are taught by our high school teaching staff, with the option of receiving college credit. High school credits and grades are automatically awarded, and students may choose to accept or decline college credit if their college grade is a C or higher. If students do not earn a college grade of at least C, the course will not appear at all on their college transcript.
